The ACHR is available only to colored horses. As defined by the International Registry of Colored Horses, a colored horse has a pinto, roan, palomino, cream, dun, buckskin, grulla, champagne, or brindle coat. The registry also accepts colored Appaloosas and Knabstruppers.
Registering your horse with the ACHR is completely optional. Non-registered horses are free to compete in and earn points from all ACHR shows. However, if your horse qualifies for a title within the ACHR, they must be registered with us before they are considered an official titled horse. (I hope this makes sense.)
To register your colored horse with the ACHR please see the Horse Registry thread. There, you will find a complete database of registered horses and a form to complete to register your own horses. The ACHR does require an active link to your horse's page, as well as some basic information about your horse(s). Once you register your horse, you will recieve the link to a banner that you can place on his/her page.
ACHR Official Shows are held by staff members and vary from local, open shows to prestigious national and international shows which your horse must qualify for.
ACHR Member Shows can be held by anyone. These shows must be open to all horses.
As a member of the ACHR, please be considerate to everyone on our boards, use your common sense when judging which classes to enter, and feel free to ask any questions. Most importantly, have fun showing!
