Entering Shows Please post that you are entering before you start your post so no one's entries are accidentally deleted. Copy and paste the class list from the last post and add your horses to the appropriate classes.
Entry Rules Horses must be at least four to enter under saddle classes, except for specifically designated young horse under saddle classes.
Young Horses are weanlings to three-year olds. Junior Horses are four to six years old. Senior Horses are seven and older.
Member Held Shows Anyone may host their own member-held show. They may feel free to use any of our class lists and can omit classes as necessary.
What is a sport horse? As Wikipedia says...
"Sport horse, or Sporthorse, is a term used to describe a type of horse, rather than any particular breed. The term generally refers to horses bred for the traditional Olympic equestrian sporting events of dressage, eventing, show jumping, halter, and combined driving... In the United States, horses used in hunt seat and show hunter competition are often classed as sport horses."
Using this definition of a sport horse, the ASHA allows for a broad range of classes for dressage, eventing, show-jumping, and combined driving. We also provide a more limited range of classes for sport horses competing as hunters or in the halter division.
May Sport Ponies compete in the ASHA? Yes, sport ponies may compete in the ASHA. However, we do not currently offer classes designed specifically for sport ponies, and ponies wishing to compete must be shown at the same levels as sport horses.
